Wiki – Karan Johan is a popular Indian film director, producer, costume designer, screenwriter, television host and actor. He is born and brought up in Mumbai in a film producer family of Yash Johar who is the founder of Dharma Productions. He did his schooling from Greenlawns High School and has attended the HR College of Commerce and Economics from Bombay. He then did his Masters in French. He is a known director to use numerology to name his films, however, with watching Lage Raho Munna Bhai, which was critical to this subject simply stopped this practise. Some of his popular movies include Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, My Name Is Khan, etc.

Biography – Karan started his career by acting in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge in 1995 playing the character of SRK, wherein he was also the assistant director to this movie and even helped him in writing the screen play. Later he designed the dresses for SRK for the movie Dil To Pagal Hai, Duplicate, Mohabbatein, Main Hoon Na, Veer Zaara and Om Shanti Om. He was barely 25 when he did his debut in direction with the movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai along with writing the story and doing things like screenplay. He worked hard to conceive the story for the film, which helped him winning the National Awards and eight different Filmfare Awards in the year 1998. This movie proved out to be among the highest grossing Indian movies of the year, which did a very good business both in India and abroad.

Some of his recent movies include Students of the Year, 2 States, Wake Up Sid, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, I Hate Luv Storys, Gippy, etc. Most of them were hit and brought forth some of the best collections. Apart from directing and producing a number of successful movies, he is also active in TV world. His chat show Koffee With Karan is among the popular ones wherein he calls a number of celebrities for the interview. The show is popular for its witty and fresh appeal and is very much popular among the younger audiences. He also appears in various reality shows including Jhalak Dikha Jaa 5 telecated in Colors TV. He was also seen in India’s Got Talent with other celebrities like Farah Khan, Kirron Kher and Malika Arora Khan. He has been awarded with a number of honours and awards both in India and abroad.
