With Daawat-e-Ishq releasing this Friday, it would be simple to recognize this man. Yes, Habib Faisal is associated with this movie as a writer and director. He is known for these two things in Bollywood apart from jotting down interesting and incredible dialogues. Though is associated with this industry since past 22 years, however, his break of ten years has his stay in B Town a smaller one. Yet he is known as one of the competent directors, screen writer of Bollywood giving some really good movies, which has given him applauds in the form of Filmfare and other prestigious awards.

Habib Faisal is born and brought up in New Delhi, and did his Mass Communications from Jamia Milia Islamia University. Later he shifted to Mumbai only, the city of dreams to fulfil his dreams. He comes from a non cinema background as his father was a teacher. He started his career by working as a cameraman in NDTV, which he did for five long years. He then started directing a number of TV serials including Kareena-Kareena, Lavaynya, etc. Later he then graduated to writing script for a number of Bollywood movies. The movies for which he did script writing include, Salaam Namaste, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, Ta Ra Rum Pum, etc. However, after writing the script for the movie Do Dooni Chaar, he realised that he should be directing the movie. So at the age of 44, when many people think of retiring he did his debut directorial venture. According to him, many of the incidences in the movie belongs to his own personal life.

Besides, he has even written dialogues for various movies, which include Tara Ra Tum Pum, Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl, Band Baaja Baaraat, while for Bewakoofiyaan he penned the script for it and the upcoming movie Daawat-e-Ishw, he is both the writer and director starring Parineeti Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapur. He has worked with Parineeti as well in her debut movie Ishaqzaade wherein he directed the said movie, while he is also writing script for the SRK starrer movie called Fan, which is to be released next year. As far as awards are concerned, he has bagged a couple of awards, which include the Filmfare Award for Best Dialogue Do Dooni Chaar, while the same movie was adjusted for the National Awards under the Best Hindi Feature Film. He also got the Screen Award for Best Dialogues for the movie Band Baja Baaraat.

You very well know about the movie Khoobsurat starring Fawad Khan and Sonam Kapoor. Well, Shashanka Ghosh is the man behind making this incredible romantic comedy, which hit on 19^th September 2014. This man has come a long way. Right away working with Ad world as copywriter to making different programs and shows for MTV and doing things like screenwriting and other things, his journey to the world of direction in Bollywood has been long. He hails from New Delhi and was born in a family of Air Force as his father was an air force officer. He worked in India and Hongkong in this field and later got an opportunity to work with MTV and soon he entered into the creative field seen making different shows and films for the music channel. Some of his films at MTV even fetched him awards and for his channel, while later served as creative director for around 7 years for Channel V. Here also, he headed a number of projects including the feature called Waisa Bhi Hota Hai, which garnered good response from the audience and critics not only in India but from abroad as well. He is the man who developed the quirky character called Quick Gun Murgun, which helped a lot the Channel V to get its Indian version in the market, which was earlier known as a typical western music channel.

Based on the same character, he later made a movie called Quick Gun Murgun making it an iconic south Indian spoof of one western cowboy. The next movie, which he made with the help of a number of directors called Mumbai Cutting. It is basically a 2010 based anthology, which was based on different characters from Mumbai city. Saroj Khan is originally known as Nirmala Kishanchand Sadhu Singh Nagpal, however, to cut the name short she penned a new name in the industry. After participation, her parents headed to India. Yes, you guess it right; he is a great director of the much hyped and popular movie Baby of Akshay Kumar. Neeraj Pandey is also known as a popular producer and screenwriter of B Town apart from being a known director of many good movies like A Wednesday and Special 26. He comes from a typical Brahmin family away from the film background from Kolkata. His father, however, has the origin from Bihar who came to Calcutta all way from Bosch to find work. He did his schooling from a local school in Kolkata and then headed to New Delhi to pursue his graduation in English. After his studies, he started working with a Delhi based company called Legacy Entertainment owned by Dalmia group, which worked in making TV program.

This is the place wherein he learnt the basics of filmmaking. In the year 2000, he shifted to Mumbai, the city of dreams wherein he got the chance to produce a documentary for a friend. This helped him enter the world of making a number of documentaries followed by ad films. He soon embarked with his own production company called Quarter Inch Productions along with one of his colleagues called Shital Bhatia, who used to make TV programs, documentaries and ad films. The duo later formed another company called Friday Filmworks, which is the group that produced his debut movie A Wednesday. The movie was inspired by the 11^th July 2006 Mumbai Train blasts as a number of incidents and info was used in the movie from this incident following the bomb blasts.

He then did a Bengali feature movie called The Royal Bengal Tiger with the Bengali star Jeet. His next regional production was a venture called Saat Ucchakey wherein the actors like Manoj Bajpayee, K.K Menon, Aditi Sharma and Anu Kapoor were roped in to make the movie. He then made Total Siyapaa with Ali Zafar, while his next venture is Baby, which is just released. His upcoming project is a biopic on Indian Cricket Captain MS Dhoni called MS Dhoni: The Untold Story starring Shushant Singh Rajput. As far as awards are concerned, he has received a number of awards. These include the National Film Award for his debut movie A Wednesday.

He also received other awards for this film including the Indira Gandhi Award for Best First Film of a Director. This movie also helped him earn awards from Star Screen Award in 2009 for Best Film and Best Story categories, while IIFA awards for Best Story and Best Dialogue. He was also nominated in Filmfare awards for the same, but couldn’t get the award from there. His next movie Speical 26 too was very much appreciated, however, it didn’t see any nomination or award for the same. Apart from making movies, he has also written his debut novel called Ghalib Danger, which was launched way back in December 2013.

Satish Kaushik Biography :

Wiki : Satish Kaushik is not an unknown name in Bollywood. He is a popular film director, actor and producer in B Town who is also associated with theatres. He hails from a small village called Dhanounda, district Mohindergarh in Haryana, India, while was brought up in Naiwala gali, Karolbagh, Delhi. After his schooling, he headed to Kirori Mal College where he did his graduation in New Delhi. Later he went to National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi and graduated from there in filmmaking in 1978 batch. He then went to FTII (Film and Television Institute of India), Pune before finally moving to Bombay to try his luck in Bollywood industry.

As far as his career is concerned, he entered in Bollywood with the role of assistant director assisting Shekhar Kapoor for the film Masoom in 1983. He was also seen in a cameo in this film. However, as a director his first movie was Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja in 1993 starring Sridevi and Anil Kapoor, which was followed by another project called Prem in 1995, which also gave Tabu a break in Bollywood. His first hit over box office was Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain in the year 1999. Some of the roles, which gave him recognition include the character called Calendar from Anil Kapoor starrer film Mr. India, while his other known character is Pappu Pager from the comedy movie called Deewana Mastana of 1997, which was directed by 1997.

He has co-authored and anchored a TV countdown show called Philips Top Ten, which gave him the Screen Videocon Award. In the year 2007, he along with his NSD batch mate Anupam Kher embarked with his own production company called Karol Bagh Productions. He then directed his first movie under his production house called Tere Sangh in 2008. This was followed by another, which was based on the life of Tansen one of the gems in Akbar’s court. Shonali Bose is a popular name in filmmaking. She is a known director, screenwriter and producer and best known for her movie Amu, which has exposed the suppressed history of genocidal attacks over the Sikh Community in 1984 after the assassination of Indira Gandhi. Shonali Bose is from Calcutta, while was brought up in cities like Delhi and Bombay. She did her graduation in humanities from the known Miranda House College followed by moving to the New York to get her masters in Political Science from the known Columbia University. During her college days, she was involved in activism and theaters as well and acted in a number of school/college plays and dramas.

Her career started with a role of an organizer at National Lawyers Guild wherein she directed live community TV in Manhattan in the US. In the year 2012, she co-authored Chittangong, which was directed by her ex husband. It revolved around the Chittagong armory raid of 1930. The movie has Manoj Bajpai as Masterda Surya Sen. Next is her recently released movie Margarita with a Straw starring the talented Kalki Koechlin, which showcases a girl having cerebral palsy.
