Bio – Arbaz Khan is an Indian actor, producer and director and a well known man in the film industry. Bio – Farhan Akhtar is an Indian film maker, director, scriptwriter, singer, lyrists, TV host and actor. Born and brought up in Bombay to the legend Javed Akhtar’s family, He comes from a strong influence of Indian cinema. He did his schooling from the known Maneckji Cooper School followed by pursuing his college in HR College, however, he turned dropout leaving his commerce studies in the midst to pursue his film career working as the assistant director in Lamhe and Himalay Putra. He later established his own production company called Excel Entertainment and embarked with his directorial debut called Dil Chahta hai (2001), which proved a big success that also led the movie a national award.

During this eight long years he made a number of documentaries and some of them were highly poltically charged one including Bihar Sharif Riots, Faces After Storm, etc. These got good attention as they were banned for a while and even was conferred with a National award for two documentaries.

Yash Chopra Biography

Wiki – Yash Raj Chopra was one of the popular film directors of Indian Cinema. He was also a good script writer and film producer who recently passed away on 21^st October 2012. He came from a Hindu Punjabi family who was born in Lahore in 1932, while his father was accountant in PWD department during the British Punjab Administration. In 1945, the Chopras shifted to Jalandhar wherein he continued his education at Doabra College Jalandhar. He then headed to Ludhiana in Punjab after the partition of the country to pursue his engineering studies, however, his love for film making led him finally to the B-Town wherein he worked as assistant director and then involved in his brother B R Chopra’s film making business.

Biography – As said above, Yash Chopra started his career as asst director to IS Johar and was BR Chopra’s elder brother. His first movie as director was Dhool Ka Phool in 1959, which was basically a melodrama talking about illegitimacy, while the other one was Dharamputra in 1961. Soon his popularity rose as he produced some of the best movies, which started with the successful film called Waqt in 1965 wherein he embarked with the concept of ensemble casts in the film industry. In 1973, he founded his own company known as Yash Raj Films and its first movie was Daag in the very same year. It was a big hit, which helped in produce more hits of the 70’s including Deewar, Kabhie Kabhie and Trishul. All these movies helped Amitab Bacchan to establish himself as an established actor in Bollywood.

However, the period of late seventies to the late eighties was bad for Chopra’s career since most of his movies he produced in during this 10 year’s time went down. Most of his movies including Doosra Aadmi, Mashaal, Faasle and Vijay couldn’t do much over the box office, however, with Chandni in 1989, his stars clicked and he was back in action. He then directed the movie Lamhe in 1991, which was a big hit with critics calling it one of the best movies ever from Chopra. His next movie Parampara was a failure and then came the best movie in 1993 Darr with SRK that turned out a big hit. His other movies with SRK include Dil To Pagal Hai, Veer Zaara and Jab Tak Hai Jaan, which was his last movie as he passed away in October 2012 even before the film release.

Chopra founded and was the chairman of Motion Picture Production and Distribution company known as Yash Raj Films, which is among the biggest production house in India along with Yash Raj Studios. He has directed and produced more than 50 movies and was among the leading filmmakers in Industry. He was regarded as the King of Romance in Bollywood. His movies have given him a number of awards including six times National Film Awards and more than 10 times Filmfare awards as best director, producer, screenwriter, etc. He was even honoured by GOI ‘s prestigious award called Dadasaheb Phalke Award in the year 2001, while Padma Bhushan in the year 2005 for his incredible contribution in Indian Cinema. BAFTA presented this man with lifetime membership for his contribution in filmmaking. He is the only Indian to get this honour, thanks to this high spirit of making movies for more than five decades.

Chopra founded and was chairman of the motion picture production and distribution company Yash Raj Films, which ranks as India’s biggest production company as of 2006, as well as Yash Raj Studios. Chopra’s career has spanned more than five decades and 50 films; he is considered one of the leading filmmakers in the history of Hindi cinema. He came to be known as the “King of Romance” of the Indian cinema. Bio – As far as his early life and background is concerned he hails from Gorakhpur, UP from a non film background as his father worked in UPPC. He was brought up in this city but did his schooling from Green School Dehradun and went for his college at Scindia School in Gwalior. His brother Abhinav Kashyap is also into Bollywood world and he writes and directs movies, while his sister Anubhati helped him in movies like Dev D and Gangs of Wasseypur. Right from his younger age, he was simply crazy about films and used to watch the movies of that time including Kora Kagaz, Aap Ki Kasam, Avishkaar, etc. However, this came to an end when he entered his school in Dehradun.

Later his dream changed and he headed to Delhi to become scientist and thus enrolled in a college called Hansraj College pursuing Zoology course. This led him to depression, which made him confused that somehow led to the street theatre group called Jana Natya Manch wherein he started doing a number of street plays. He couldn’t do his next play at Makrand Deshpande’s troupe out of frustration and dejection. Later he wrote an 8 page drama called Main that rocked the college drama festival. His friends asked him to try out writing career, while his play was appreciated by people like Saeed Mirza and Govind Nihalaniand. His entry into the movie world was really a roller coaster ride wherein he was given work but he ended doing without the excitement and contentment. He kept reading and watching films in order to write for a couple of years and finally made his entry in Daud with Manoj Bajwai.

This is the place where he met Ram Gopal Verma who asked him to write a script for his movie Satya. The movie turned out a big hit, which made Varma to have more film scripts from him leading to movie Shool in 1999, while he then wrote dialogues for Yuva in 2004. Since then it was no looking back for Kashyap as he gradually entered into the director’s role and then headed to form his own company to turn a producer.
